John Heenan vs. Tom King... a great boxing collectible...

Item # 648525 ·
THE NEW YORK HERALD, Dec. 26, 1863

* John Heenan vs. Tom King
* One of the greatest fights of the 19th century
* Heenan's last fight... was he cheated... drugged?

The front page has nearly two columns of reporting regarding the famous (or infamous?) champion prize-fight between John Heenan and Tom King. Heenan eventually lost the fight but later claimed he was cheated by being drugged and by the fight not being called when he knocked down King for more than enough time for the fight to have been called. This issue contains considerable details regarding the fight.
