September 29, 1866
LESLIE'S ILLUSTRATED, New York, Sept. 29, 1866  The fourth page has a 3 by 2 inch portrait of: "Edward Beadle, Gotham B. B. Club Of New York." Includes an article headed "Our Base Ball Illustrations" that compares the "new school" of ball players to the "old boys" and then describes the talent and skills of Beadle, a first baseman for the Gothams (see).
There is also a halfpg. print of: "Messrs. Kavanagh & Decker's Billiard Table Manufactory, Corner Of Canal And Centre Streets, New York." A two page article about "Turpentine Manufacture In The Southern States" includes nine scenes of the process.
Early for such baseball content, especially with a portrait.
Complete in 16 pgs., in very good condition.
