NILES' WEEKLY REGISTER, Baltimore, March 18, 1815  Inside has a letter from Henry Dearborn to a member of the Senate, followed by: "Navy of the United States" which is a letter from the Secretary of the Navy to a committee of congress, signed in type: B. W. Crowninshield. There is also a lengthy letter signed: James Monroe.
Further on are "War Events" which takes over 7 1/2 pages including reports signed by John Floyd, D. Parker, Jas. P. Preston, J. Winchester, and W. H. Watson. Also a letter from Stephen Decatur.
Another article is headed: "Major-General Jackson" is a biography on him, timely with his triumph at New Orleans. It takes half a page.
Sixteen pages, 6 by 9 1/2 inches, very nice condition.

This newspaper began in 1811 and was a prime source for national political news of the first half of the 19th century. As noted in Wikipedia it: "...(was) one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States...Devoted primarily to politics...considered an important source for the history of the period."
