The top of the first column on pg. 1 are heads: "Sherman's Triumphant March" "Capture of Columbia, the Capital of South Carolina" "Beauregard Declines a Fight" "The Rebels Destroy their Stores & Go Away" "Charleston Probably Evacuated" "Subdued Tone of the Rebel Press" plus there are many more heads throughout the balance of the front page. Included is: "President Lincoln on the Draft" which is signed in type: A. Lincoln (see).
