Civil War column heads at the top of the front page include: "THE WAR NEWS" "Triumphant Success Of The Naval Expedition" "Forts Walker and Beauregard, and Beaufort Taken" "Our Loss Trifling" "Reliable Particulars of the Engagement". Page 2 has: "Parson Brownlow" which notes in part: "...contains the farewell address of Brownlow, who has been indicted for treason to the C.S.A. and is to be imprisoned...".
