THE GENTLEMAN'S MAGAZINE, London,  November, 1790  Included near the back is a bit of news headed: "America" which includes: "...that a permanent peace had been concluded betwixt the native Indians in the back settlements & Congress..." and also: "...letters from Kentucky...an account of the capture of several boats on the river Ohio by the Shawanese Indians...made prisoners of several traders..." (see).
Included are the 3 plates called for, one of which is a fold-out & another shows many coins (see).
Complete in 96 pages, 5 by 8 inches, full title/contents page with an engraving of St. John's Gate, great condition.


A very nice magazine from the "mother country" with a wide range of varied content. This was the first periodical to use the word "magazine" in its title, having begun in 1731 and lasting until 1907.
