One of the more significant Supreme Courts cases of the 20th century which impacted the way business operated was the case of "Standard Oil of New Jersey vs. the United States". In this case the Supreme Court of the United States found Standard Oil guilty of monopolizing the petroleum  industry through a series of abusive and anti-competitive actions. The court's remedy was to divide Standard Oil into several competing firms.
The front page headline proclaims the historic decision with a two column headline: "STANDARD OIL TRUST MUST BE DISSOLVED" with subhead: "Supreme Court Rules That It Is a Monopoly in Restraint of Trade--History of the Famous Case" Lengthy text carries over to page 8.
