THE BOSTON POST, Oct. 9, 1940 

* Cincinnati Reds vs. Detroit Tigers
* World Series of baseball (final game)


The front page has a 2 column headline: "REDS WIN OUT IN SERIES, 2-1" with a subhead: "Newsom Loses Great Pitching Duel to Derringer in Seventy---Bartell Blamed for Tigers' Defeat". A related photo as well, and other one-column heads concerning the victory including; "$5782 To Each Red, $3519 To Each Tiger" and an article beginning: "To the new baseball champions of the world: Hail, Cincinnati !...". Reporting carries over to pages 14 & where there are additional headlines, a nice graphic and 4 photos (see).
Complete in 22 pages, very nice, clean condition.
