NEW YORK TIMES, May 25, 1935 The top of the sports page has a one column head: "REDS' NIGHT GAME DRAWS 25,000 FANS" with subheads including: "Many Notables See Contest, First Under Lights in History of Major Leagues" and more. This was the very first Major League Baseball night game played under electric lights. The game was at Crosley Field, home of the Cincinnati Reds.
