MIDDLESEX GAZETTE, Middletown, Connecticut, Oct. 25, 1805  The front page has a full column, with more on pg. 2, for: "A By-Law for Preserving the Buildings in the City of Middletown from Fire". Page 3 has: "Pugilism Extraordinary" which is an interesting article on a fight between two men which ended in 15 minutes, but then their "seconds" fought, one party being the wife of the first boxer, and she: "...so completely disfigured the head of Leveret that he yielded to her superior science in the pugilism art, amidst the shouts of the mot. The second was by far the best fight & the delicate lady challenged her husband's rival on the spot." (see)
