See the nice eagle in the masthead. Pages 2 & 3 have all columns black-bordered for the death of President Taylor with the top of page. 3 noting; "Mournful Intelligence!" "Death of General Taylor!!!" with many dispatches on his condition prior to his death, plus one: "President of the United States died at 35 minutes past 10 o'clock last night! His disease was Cholera Morbus. His death was calm & peaceful!..." with more (see). Included is a letter signed by the new President: Millard Fillmore, to Congress.
Four pages, some fold foxing, generally nice condition.
