THE WEEKLY REGISTER, Baltimore, July 17, 1813  Over half of the front page is taken up with a document headed: "Republic of Mexico" which is a declaration of independence by the people of Texas. It contains a prefacing paragraph which includes: "...the principal parts of the Declaration of Independence by the province of Texas, a member of the great Mexican Republic..." and the document itself takes almost a full column. Bits of the text include: "We, the people of the province of Texas...the rectitude of our intentions, declare that the ties which held us under the domination of Spain and Europe, are forever dissolved..." with much more.
Page two is entirely taken up with a  map, titled: "Map of the Rapids of Miami Shewing the Situation of Fort Meigs". This is an extremely rare map to be found in this newspaper, and significant that takes the entire page. The facing page has an article: "Interesting Topography of Ohio" which takes nearly three pages. Both the map & the article related to the ongoing War of 1812.
Further on is a lengthy document from the Secretary of State which relates, in part, to the War of 1812, and is signed in type: James Monroe, plus an article headed: "Event of the War" with various military items.
Complete in sixteen pages, 6 1/4 by 9 1/2 inches, with a few lite foxing markings, otherwise in nice condition.
