PUCK, New York, Jan. 23, 1889  Puck was America's first successful humor magazine of colorful cartoon caricatures and political satire, publishing from 1871 until 1918. It was also the first to successfully adopt full color lithography printing for a weekly publication. The color prints are very desired for their displayability. This issue has as its political cartoons:
front page: "What Our Prisoners Need The Most."
double-page centerfold: "The Bosses of The Senate."
back page is a series of 6 vignettes: "The Bogus Invention Swindle--A Prosperous Industry of the Day."
Complete in 16 pages, tipped-in centerfold, 13 1/4 by  10 1/4 inches, light dirtiness at the margins, generally nice.
