NEW YORK HERALD, Dec. 22, 1864 The front page is dominated by a quite detailed & large Civil War map headed: "SHERMAN'S TRIUMPHANT MARCH. Route of the Army from Atlanta to the Atlantic---The Investment of Savannah." There are also a large stack of first column heads on the war including: "SHERMAN" "The Gallop Through Georgia" "The Country Stripped of Everything" "The Battle of Griswoldville" "Sherman Subsists on the Fat of the Land & Does Not Lose a Wagon or Gun" "Sherman's Total Loss Only 1500" "The Siege of Savannah Opened" and much more.
