THE NEW YORK TIMES, New York, June 9, 1921

* Rare and unique Babe Ruth item
* New York Yankees

This 32 page newspaper has one column headlines on the front page: "'BABE' RUTH PLAYS AFTER DAY IN JAIL", "Sentenced as Speeder, He Spends 4 1/2 Hours in Cell and Then Speeds to Ball Game", "FREE AT 4 P.M., BATS AT 4:40", "Advised to Remember Law, He Is Fingerprinted and Put Behind Bars With Five Others". What a unusual item concerning Babe Ruth and to have it on the front page of  a New York City paper is just terrific. This issue was found while looking for something else in our inventory. My guess is that this event was never recorded in any biography or book concerning this famous Yankee, however I could be wrong though.

A very rare and unique item. Other news, sports and advertisements of the day throughout. Light browning with a little margin wear, otherwise good.
