Knute Rockne's last collegiate game.....

Item # 588773 ·
THE MEMPHIS EVENING APPEAL, Memphis, Tennessee, December 8, 1930

* Notre Dame Fighting Irish ends the season undefeated
*
Last official collegiate game coached by Knute Rockne before his death
* ND to repeat as National Champions after this game

This 18 page newspaper has various reporting on page 12 regarding the end of the 1930 collegiate football season with a five column headline that reads: "NOTRE DAME LEADS UNBEATEN, UNTIED ELEVENS FOR THIS SEASON" with subhead. This was just after their game with USC which was the last collegiate game Knute Rockne would be a part of prior to his fatal airplane crash. Not only was this Knute's Rockne's last collegiate game but it was the game that pushed Notre Dame over the top as National Champions for that year as well.

Other news of the day. Light browning with some margin wear and tear, otherwise good.
