ILLUSTRATED LONDON NEWS, England, October 4, 1879  The most noteworthy item in this issue is: "The Old Arctic Exploring Ship Resolute, Now Broken Up At Chatham Dockyard", which includes a 12 x 8 1/2 inch print of the HMS Resolute, with approximately 4 1/2 inches of linear text describing the event (see images).  Other prints are related to the Afghan War, Yakoob Khan, "Honeymoon in Venice", the Zulu War, "Merchant of Venice" (being a doublepage print), the steamship "Orient", and more.  Other prints and news of the day can be found throughout.

The issue is in very good condition and is complete.
