The banner headline announces: "U.S. Does It---Space Flight Success" with various subheads and related reports, including "Shot Puts U.S. Back Into 'Space Race' "& more, plus above the masthead are three large photos of astronaut Alan Shepard & his Mercury capsule (see photos). This was a critical milestone in the space-race of the 20th century, as America was playing catch-up to the Soviet Union's earlier successes in space.

This issue is complete in 20 pages, has two folds, and is in very nice condition.
