Hatch, of Edgemont, Pa., writes the following to The Philadelphia Press: 'In looking over my note-book the other day, I came across something relating to the discover of gold in California which I thought might interest your readers...'"  This issue also contains several articles pertaining to the upcoming mayoral election in which Mr. Babcock was running.
