Arverne, Queens, New York fire....

Item # 578187 ·
THE NEW YORK TIMES, June 16, 1922

* Arverne, Queens, New York City fire (1st report)

This 36 page newspaper has a three column headline on the front page: "400 BUILDINGS BURNED AT ARVERNE; 10,000 MADE HOMELESS, 60 INJURED; LOSS $4,000,000 IN HALF SQUARE MILE" with subheads (see images). Reporting continues on page 2 with related photos. Loads of text here, too much to photograph.

This tells of the fire disaster which destroyed a large part of Arverne, Queens, New York. Nice to have in this famous NYC title.

Other news, sports and advertisements of the day. Light browning with some margin wear, otherwise good.
