The top of the first column of the front page has the historic announcement of the official end of the Civil War with the headings:  "PROCLAMATION", "By the President of the United States", "The Sword Sheathed", "Peace-Law-Liberty", which deals with the reconstruction of the Southern states and is signed in type: Andrew Johnson.  The text takes up 1 1/4 columns.

Other news of the day including advertising of the period. Complete in 8 pages, generally nice condition.
