April 15, 1865
THE NEW YORK TIMES, April 15, 1865.  The granddaddy of them all!  The most desired issue on the Lincoln Assassination.  Typical foxing and rubbing at the folds, but in much  better than typical condition.  Described as:

The full eight-page edition, published between the time Lincoln was shot and his death a few hours later. Column one headlines read, in order: "AWFUL EVENT. President Lincoln Shot by an Assassin. The Deed Done at Ford's Theatre Last Night. The Act of a Desperate Rebel. The President Still Alive at Last Accounts. No Hopes Entertained of His Recovery. Attempted Assassination of Secretary Seward. Details of the Dreadful Tragedy."

Front page printed with mourning rules, four of the six columns on the front page are filled with various reports of the event. In generally very good condition.
