Page 2 has an interesting letter from Winchester, Virginia, that says:
 
* ...a mountain, 15 or 20 miles from that place, had recently burst; and area of 15 or 20 acres of earth fell into the adjacent valley...the force of violence being such as to have crushed and destroyed trees, fences, houses, and everything...in its way.
