Piracy of the Mexican War...

Item # 220404 ·
THE NEW YORK TRIBUNE, July 23, 1864  The front page features many one column headlines covering events of the Civil War including:   "The Great Contest: General Grant's Operations", "The Great Contest: The Raid Into Maryland", "Approach to the Chattahoochee...", "A Self Convicted Pirate", and much more. There is additional war-related text on the inside and back pages as well.
Complete in 8 pages, generally in nice condition due to the use of "rag paper" - paper with a high cotton content.  However, there is a small tear along the seam of the issue that is present on every page.  This tear does not harm any of the content of this issue.  View images for a clear representation of this issue's condition.
