Item # 214227 ·

THE NEW YORK TIMES, New York, March 3, 1862

* Columbus Evacuated
* Death of Brigade-General Lander

This 8 page newspaper is in nice condition (except for a few small margin tears) due to the use of cotton and rag paper during this very historic time in U.S. history. This issue is loaded with advertisements and Civil War reports throughout from the day it was first reported which includes the following headlines: "HIGHLY IMPORTANT NEWS" "Abandonment of Murfreesboro by the Rebels" "Columbus Positively Evacuated" "Destruction of the Town and their Military Stores by the Rebels" "Death of Brig.-Gen. Lander" and much more. SEE PHOTOS. A nice piece of history from this famous newspaper.
