HARPER'S WEEKLY, New York, December 12, 1908  The front page of this issue has an illustration of "His Letter--The Best Gift of All" by E. M. Ashe.
This issue has many illustrations partially colored. There is one of "A Forlorn Hope" by J. A. Williams; "The Strategy Board" by R. F. Schabelitz; " 'Get a Reindeer' " by C. N. Forbell; "One Touch of Nature--A Kinship in the World of Broken Toys" by Angus Mac Donall and "A Friendly Port for Christmas Eve" by John Edwin Jackson and much more.
Other advertisements of the day are included as well, helping to portray life at the turn of the century.
