HARPER'S WEEKLY, New York, May 3, 1879  The front page of the issue features a full illustration entitled "The Goose-herd" from a painting by G. Wertheimer.  Thomas Nast political full page cartoon is "Canada's Real Home Rule". A full page illustration "A Tobacco Mart in Lynchburg, Virginia" shows six scenes in the tobacco making process and features an accompanying article.
The double-page centerfold is of "The Stewart Art Gallery". A full page illustration "Melican Man Allee Clazee, Alle Walkee, Allee Lunnee". A half-page illustration is of "'Parole' - the American Winner of the Newmarket Handicap"
The issue is complete in 16 pages, in good condition, and contains additional prints and related text. See photos for details.
