HARPER'S WEEKLY, New York, October 1, 1864  The front page shows: "General Warren Extending & Fortifying His Lines Across the Weldon Railroad". Inside has a full page: "The Halt" by Thomas Nast; a full page: "General Sherman's Victory--Rebel Prisoners Being conducted to Atlanta From Jonesborough"; a half pg: "Destruction of Cars by General Hood Previous to the Evacuation of Atlanta"; a halfpg: "General Sherman's Army Destroying the Macon Railroad Between Rough & Ready and Jonesborough, Georgia". Also smaller prints of: "Brigadier-General James D. Morgan" "Brigadier-General William P. Carlin" "Monument to Stephen A. Douglas" & the 'United States Torpedo Boat 'New Era' "
But the most notable print in this issue is the great doublepage centerfold which shows Abraham Lincoln holding a United States flag, surrounding by soldiers, beneath which is a poem: "Rally round the Flag, Boys!"
