HARPER'S WEEKLY, New York, August 1, 1885 Full front page: 'General Grant's Last Message' is quite somber, as he was near death. Halfpg: 'Dr. Ferran Inoculating for Cholera in Spain' Displayable fullpg. cowboy print: 'On A Hot Trail' is by noted artist T. Thurstrup & shows cowboys on the hunt for Cheyennes. Fullpg: 'Death of Grant' shows him on his deathbed. Fullpg: 'On the Roof of a Tenement House' 'Sand Pier at Atlantic City'.
Included are both supplements, the first attached in front of the issue being a doublepage print: "In The Wilderness, 1864" showing Grant on horseback. The other is attached at the back: "The Hero of Our Age--Dead!" being a Thomas Nast print honoring U.S. Grant.
Complete in 24 pages, nice condition.
