* Kobe Bryant is drafted right out of high school
The front page of the Sports Section reports on the 1996 NBA draft in which Kobe Bryant was drafted right out of high school at #13 by the Charlotte Hornets. Also on this page is an article which tells of the pending trade between the Hornets and the Los Angeles Lakers which would send Kobe to L.A. and Vlade Divac to the Hornets - provided Divac does not retire. Included is a table of the picks for the first round and a photo of both Divac and another of Bryant. The articles continue on the inside pages. Great to have in this Los Angeles publication, the city where he would play his entire NBA career. Rare as such.
