The sport's section (page 18) has one column headings: "INDIANS' ROOKIE FANS 15 TO SCORE" and "Feller, 17, Is One Short of Modern League Record in Subduing Browns, 4-1" First report coverage on Bob Feller's very first MLB start in which he won and struck out 15. He was only 17 years old at the time.
The front page has reporting on RMS Queen Mary breaking the Atlantic Ocean speed record.
