HASTINGS DAILY TRIBUNE, Nebraska, May 2 and 4, 1936 A pair of issues on the capture of public enemy #1, Alvin Karpis. Issue of May 2 has a banner head: "RUSH KARPIS TO CRIME SCENE" with a full-figure photo of Karpis captioned: "A chartered plane today carried Alvin Karpis, public enemy No. 1, to St. Paul, Minn., where he will face charges for the kidnapping of...". Also the first column head: "Faces Kidnapping Charge" "Public Enemy No. 1 Flown to St. Paul Heavily Manacled" with much text.
The issue of May 4 has a ftpg. photo headed: "Karpis Back at Scene of Crime" and a lengthy caption. The photo includes J. Edgar Hoover as well.
Both issues are complete in 8 and 10 pages respectively, very nice condition.
