January 30, 1862
DAILY RICHMOND EXAMINER, Virginia, Jan. 30, 1862 The ftpg. has many ads, and reports from Mexico which include: "The Commissioner of the Southern Confederacy in Mexico", as well as: "Notes Of The War" which relates to England's involvement in the Civil War.
Page 2 has the always-interesting editorial which takes a full column, and also has: "Conscription" "The Latest Northern News--Movements & Spirit of the War" "Important From Europe--Effect of the Surrender of Mason & Slidell..." "The Northern Press on the News From Europe" "Legislature of Virginia" and page 3 has more on the Civil War including: "Kentucky" "Important Military Bill--A System of Universal Enlistment" "Hagan's John and His Sunday Dinner" "Telegraphic News--Very Latest From the North" "Movements of the Federal Fleet Off Savannah".
The bkpg. is mostly taken up with many Acts of the Confederate Congress, several relating directly to the Civil War. Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, some rubbing to an archivally repaired tear distracting very little, very nice condition.
