This is followed by: "President Burnet's Answer" which includes: "...the citizens & citizen soldiers of Texas have felt, & do feel, a deep, intense, & righteous indignation at the many atrocities which have been perpetrated by the troops lately under your excellency's command; & especially of the barbarous massacre of the brave Col. Fannin & his gallant companions..." with much more.
Also within, and taking two pages, is: "Texas - Message of the President, to the First Congress of the Republic of Texas" which has a wealth of fine content on the struggles of the new Republic of Texas.
