ALEXANDER'S MESSENGER, Philadelphia, Oct. 14, 1846
* Battle of Monterrey - Nuevo León
* General Zachary Taylor victory
Page 3 begins with a terrific graphic on the victorious capture of Monterrey, Mexico by General Taylor: "HIGHLY IMPORTANT NEWS FROM THE ARMY!" "GLORIOUS VICTORY!" with more, these heads spanning two columns--quite unusual for the period.
The text on the battle is very lengthy and very detailed.
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, large folio size, some discrete archival mends, some minor slits near the spine, irregular at portions of the margin. Folder size noted is for the issue folded in half.
