THE NEW YORK TIMES, June 15, 1919

* 1st Non-stop Transatlantic airplane flight (historic)
* John Alcock & Arthur W. Brown takeoff

It may be a surprise to many that Charles Lindbergh was not the first to fly non-stop across the Atlantic (his was the first solo flight). Eight years previously the pair of John Alcock & Arthur Brown made the historic flight which this issue heralds the start with a banner headline: "ALCOCK AND BROWN, IN THEIR VIMY AIRPLANE, START ATLANTIC FLIGHT IN HEAVY WIND; NO WORD FROM THEM AFTER LEAVING ST. JOHNS" with various related subheads and related map. More on the following pages with loads of text. Always nice to have notable events in history reported in this World famous publication.
This is the complete issue with all 24 pages, light toning with minor wear at the margins, irregular along the spine, generally nice.
