December 07, 1864

NEW-YORK DAILY TRIBUNE, Dec. 7, 1864

* President Abraham Lincoln
* State of the Union Address (last)

"The Message Of President Lincoln" takes all of the last column on the front page and concludes on page 2, signed in type: Abraham Lincoln.
This was Lincoln's annual state-of-the-union address. In the message Lincoln states in part: "...In presenting the abandonment of armed resistance to the National authority on the part of the insurgents as the only indispensable condition to ending the war...I retract nothing heretofore said of as to Slavery...".
Eight pages, very nice condition.
