As noted in the masthead this was the: "Gazette of The Regular & Volunteer Forces" and as such is replete with military news of all sorts.
Perhaps the highlight is the page two diagram showing: "Fort Wagner and Its Approaches" (see) which has much text on this as well. Plus there is a "Proclamation" signed by President Abraham Lincoln, calling for more volunteers.
Other items within the issue include: "A Nameless Spy" "The Changes In Command" "The Army & Its Reinforcement" "Rebel Victories & Federal Successes" and so much more.
Sixteen pages, nice condition.
