December 17, 1778

THE LONDON EVENING POST, England, Dec. 17, 1778  Page 2 has much reporting from the "House of Commons" including discussion on the war in America, including: "...We had heard that America was naked, cowardly, and lifeless, without cloaths, arms or ammunition..." then some discussion of the expense of the war. Further on: "Sir John Wrottesley objected to the mode of war intended to be adopted in America, because he, from his heart, believed it was not in our power to render it successful. It had been stated that our force in America was 28,000 effective men..." then a breakdown of how the troops are stationed (see photos).
Four pages, folio size, never-trimmed margins, red tax stamp on page 3, nice condition.
