Pg. 3 has an item from Paris which includes: "...dispatches from compte D'Estaing, which confirmed the loss of St. Lucie. This piece of sorrow has been amply compensated by the agreeable news from Spain which assures us of a declaration of that crown in favour of America...The marquis de Fayette has been permitted to leave his exile...".
Also a short bit: "Dr. Franklin's plenipotentiary appointments are said to be 3,200 pounds a year." and also: "...received from Paris...that Arthur Lee, one of the American plenipotentiaries at the court of France, has been put under arrest for having carried on a treasonable correspondence with the English..." with more on this.
The bkpg. has a lengthy report: "Motion to Censure Administration for Not Sending Out a Fleet Sooner Last Year to Reinforce Lord Howe" with much detail & taking two-thirds of the page.
Four pages, red tax stamp on the ftpg., nice condition.
