THE NEW YORK TIMES, October 9, 1936

* 1939 New York City World's Fair planning
* Depicted the "World of Tomorrow" - future

The top of the front page has a two column headline: "Fair of 1939 Will Depict The "World of Tomorrow" with subhead. (see) Lengthy reporting continues inside with a few related illustrations. First report coverage on New York City's planning for the 1939 World's Fair. Always nice to have notable events in history reported in this World famous publication, especially on this topic.
Other news, sports and advertisements of the day. Complete in 52 pages, this is the rare rag edition that was produced on very high quality newsprint, with a high percentage of cotton & linen content, allowing the issues to remain very white & sturdy into the present. Given the subscription cost, libraries & institutions rather than individuals were the primary subscribers of these high-quality editions. Nice condition.
