PERIODICO OFFIICIAL [Official Newspaper], Sept. 21, 1865, with a translated subtitle: "Official Newspaper Of the Constitutional Government of the Mexican Republic". Printed at Paso Del Norte, which later would be renamed Cuidad Juarez, on the Texas border.
At this time the Civil War was going on and this town would become the headquarters of the Benito Juarez Constitutionalists. Juarez would return to Mexico City in triumph in 1867.
Four pages, 8 1/2 by 12 1/4 inches, several tape mends inside.
