September 07, 1920

THE NEW YORK TIMES, September 7, 1920

* Boxer Jack Dempsey vs. Billy Miske
* Heavyweight boxing championship fight
* 1st ever title bout broadcast on radio

The top of the front page has a one column heading: "DEMPSEY'S BLOWS KNOCK OUT MISKE IN THIRD ROUND" with subheads. (see) First report coverage on Jack Dempsey defending his heavyweight boxing crown by knocking out Billy Miske.
Other news, sports and advertisements of the day. Complete with all 32 pages, light toning at the margins, a little irregular along spine, generally nice.

wikipedia notes: On September 6, 1920, Miske lost to Jack Dempsey in the third round of a fight to decide the World Heavyweight Boxing title. It was the first heavyweight title match to be broadcast on radio, and it was the only time Billy Miske was ever knocked out.
