THE LONDON MAGAZINE, England, December, 1778  Over 3 pages are taken up with a: "Manifesto and Proclamation by His  Majesty's American Commissioners" being a seemingly last ditch effort to come to some agreement for a peace with the American colonies. One bit notes: "...we again declare that we are ready to concur in all satisfactory & just arrangements for securing to them and their respective constituents the re-establishment of peace, with the exemption from any imposition of taxes by the parliament of Great Britain, and the irrevocable enjoyment of every privilege consistent with that union of interests and force on which our mutual prosperity...and liberties depend...".
Over 10 pages are taken up with much detail on discussions in Parliament, much of it focused on relations in America. An interesting perspective of what was debated in Parliament while the was was going on.
At the back over 3 pages under the heading: "American Affairs" which includes letters signed by: H. Clinton, Cornwallis, and Pat. Ferguson with some great content on the events of the war. A few bits include: "...General Washington did not seem to show  the least disposition to assemble his army & the militia kept at a distance..." and: "...my move into Jersey was partly to savour an expedition sent to Egg Harbour..." with more on events at Little Egg Harbor (see).
Complete in 48 pages, full title/contents page, 5 1/4 by 8 1/4 inches, some foxing at the bottom margins, good condition. Lacking both plates called for.

Formatted very much like the Gentleman's Magazine but a much more scarce title. The title/contents page features a great engraving of the skyline of London.
