THE NEW YORK TIMES, September 23, 1927.

* Gene Tunney Wins Title over Jack Dempsey
* The famous long count boxing match
* Heavyweight boxing title fight

The front page has a great banner headline: "GENE TUNNEY KEEPS TITLE BY DECISION AFTER 10 ROUNDS; DEMPSEY INSISTS FOE WAS OUT IN 7TH, AND WILL APPEAL" with many subheads and photo of Tunney. (see) Nice to have the headline include mention of the "long count" here. Much, much more in the sport's section (pages 18 -21) with loads of text and a few more photos. 1st report coverage on "The Long Count Fight" between Gene Tunney and Jack Dempsey.
Other news, sports and advertisements of the day. Complete in 56 pages, very minor margin wear, otherwise nice condition.
