June 14, 1864

CHARLESTON DAILY COURIER, South Carolina, June 14, 1864

* From the origin of the Civil War

This was one of just a few newspapers which printed: "Confederates States of America" in its masthead. The front page includes: "From General Lee's Army--Grant Again Changing Base--York River Rail Road Abandoned--Official From General & D. Lee--Complete Rout of the Enemy" "From General Johnston's Army" "From The Southwest" "Siege of Charleston" "The Virginia War News" "The Late Attack on Petersburg" and even more.
The back page is mostly taken up with advertisements and notices, however it does have: "The Georgia Army" "Fiendish Behaviour of the Enemy" and a few other items.
Complete as a single sheet newspaper with a banner masthead, in very nice, clean condition.
