July 21, 1861

NEW YORK HERALD, July 21, 1861

* Battle of Bull Run front page map
* Manassas, Virginia

The front page has a nice Civil War map headed: "Manassas Gap Junction and Surroundings - The Reported Positions of the Rebel Troops---Some of Their Entrenchments, Batteries & Encampments."
There are also nice first column heads including: "THE REBELLION" "Advance of the Union Forces Towards Manassas Gap Railroad" "The Rebel Batteries at Bull's Run Avoided" "Gen. Johnston's Army to Be Cut Off" "Gen. Scott's Opinion as to the Strength of Our Army" "Order of Gen. McClellan to his Troops Congratulating Them on Their Victories".
Eight pgs., some printing creases to the front page distract some but cause no loss of readability, otherwise in very nice condition.
