THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, Dec. 3, 1782

* American Revolutionary War
* Preliminary peace treaty
* Battle of the Black River

The bkpg. begins with a very notable "Postscript" announcing the latest: "...that a messenger is this moment arrived from Paris with an account of a provisional article having been signed the 30th of November by his Majesty's commissioners and the commissioners of the United States of America to be inserted in & constitute a Treaty of Peace which is to be concluded when terms of peace should be agreed upon between Great Britain and France...". This proved true, as Nov. 30 was the historic date when a preliminary peace treaty was signed in Paris.
All of pages 1 and 2 are taken up with surrender terms and the Articles of Capitulation in the Battle of the Black River in the Caribbean. There is more on this under "Plantation News" on page 7. Page 4 has various news reports under the heading: "America".  More American reports as well.
Eight pages, 8 1/4 by 11 1/2 inches, very nice condition.
