THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, Sept. 16, 1780 The entire front page is a "Narrative of Lt. General Sir William Howe in a Committee of the House of Commons on the 29th of April 1779 Relative to his Conduct during his late Command of the King's Troops in North America...". An interesting & detailed account of Howe's work in America from the early part of the Revolutionary War, which carries over to page 2. One portion includes: "...On the 28th of October the engagement at White Plains took place. But it has been asserted that, by my not attacking the lines on the day of action, I lost an opportunity of destroying the rebel army; and it has been also said that I might have cut off the enemy's retreat by the Croton Bridge..." with more details.
Eight pages, 8 1/4 by 11 1/4 inches, very nice, clean condition.
