THE CALEDONIAN MERCURY, Edinburgh, Scotland, Jan. 5, 1738 An early issue of this famous title, with a nice ftpg. (carrying over to pg. 2) mention of Oglethorpe and Georgia: "...The soldiers that are going to Georgia in Colonel Oglethorpe's Regiment will have, at their first going over, 5 acres of land each man, and after seven years servitude 20 acres each."
Four pages, never-trimmed margins, 8 1/2 by 10 1/2 inches, great condition.
